The Harvest Horse Show, held at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, TX, hosted a big crowd that showed up to capture the great prize money. The Hunters were showcased with over $60,000 in Green Hunter money offered. The Texas Green Super Stake series highlighted the week and got things off to a good start on Wednesday with a $5,000 Stake for 3’/3’3 Green Hunters. Peter Pletcher started off his winning week with a victory on Jamie Jarvis’ Cazador (pictured). Second went to Sincerely owned by Shadyside Farm and also ridden by Peter. Third went to Deluxe owned by Susan Wesley Wilson and ridden by Courtney Lenkart.
In the $5000 Texas Super Series 3’6/3’9 Green Hunter Stake, Will Roberts took the blue on Teriann Miller’s Redding Ridge (pictured). Second went to MTM Exceptional owned by Abigail Davenport and ridden by Dorothy Douglas and the yellow ribbon went home with MTM Do Right and owner/rider Didi McKenzie. (These three also finished in the same order for the $10,000 Texas Super Series 3'6"/3'6" Green Hunter Championship.)
On Thursday the USHJA took center stage with the Regional Green Incentive Championships. The $10,000 USHJA 3’/3’3 winner was Sincerely owned by Shadyside Farm and ridden by Peter Pletcher (pictured). The $5,000 USHJA 3’6/3’9 Championship ribbon went home with MTM Do Right and Didi Mackenzie (pictured below).
Friday morning more money was dished out in the Texas Super Stake Series Championship. The $29,350 Texas 3'/3'3" Super Stake Championship was won by Cazador (pictured) owned by Jamie Jarvis and ridden by Peter Pletcher. Second went to Shadyside Farm's Sincerely and Peter and third went to Alisto owned by Lori Mathews and ridden by Courtney Lenkart.
The young green horses were up next with the $7500 Super Series 3 year old Freestyle Performance Class sponsored by Olde Oaks Farm. The 3 year olds have six minutes in the ring to show their stuff and Alisa Lask's Wow Factor ridden by Alexia Gorey took home the blue. Second went to Jessica Harries on Harper FCF owned by Beth Colle and the yellow ribbon went to Sterling Iron Details and owner/rider Lindsey Behrend.
Friday was also Derby Day with the $5000 USHJA National Derby kicking off the afternoon. Bob Brawley came away with a very clean ride and a great score to take the blue on Argento (pictured) owned by DDM Equestrian. Second went to Hoopla owned by Hollis Hughes Grace and ridden by Peter Pletcher and third went to Udarko and owner/rider Meghann Harmon.
The $10,000 USHJA International Derby was run under the "Hunt and Go" format. The one round is similar to a power and speed format and Peter Pletcher on Spruce Meadows’s Quintessential (pictured) was the winner. Second went to MTM Here's 2 You owned by Candu Farm and ridden by Natalee Haggan and third was MTM Exceptional owned by Abigail Davenport and ridden by Dorothy Douglas.
